Freelance writer
My role as your freelance writer (copywriter, scriptwriter, creative writer, web content writer, business writer, journalist) is to take the information you provide and turn it into something special, something powerful, something that grabs the attention of your audience and makes them sit up, notice you and take action.
This ‘something’ I write will be something new. It might be modelled on something you’ve done before, it might even include some information that you’ve written, but it will be the first time it reads like this and works as effectively as this.
As your freelance writer I will:
- consult, research, plan and think before I write (I won’t begin writing until I understand WHAT you want to say, WHO you want to say it to, and WHY you want to say it)
- write words that clearly and concisely communicate a consistent message
- creatively and effectively target your audience.
I will not:
- pretend to be a graphic designer (I know my limitations – I’ll leave the formatting, layout and design to someone else).
You will only meet your objectives if you reach your audience (and reaching them means getting them to read your message and understand it). As your freelance writer, I will use the right language to get your message through.
My carefully targeted words have helped to sensitively manage organisational change; they’ve helped senior citizens to see the value in renewing a membership even though times were tough; they’ve candidly revealed a little-known fact about a well-known Australian; they’ve sold engine components to rev heads. My writing style is flexible. I find the right ‘voice’ for your audience and I use it.
