I established The Word Shop in 1990. That means I have been writing (copywriting, script writing, business writing, online writing, creative writing), editing and proofreading for 21 years. I don’t just write, edit and proofread. I think first and I keep on thinking as I work. For me it’s about more than just the words. I bring fresh, creative ideas to the table and help you to achieve your objectives by reaching your audience with a meaningful message that motivates them to take action.

I recognise that every writing project is unique. It will have its own goals and objectives. It will have its own audience. I have the flexibility to adapt my writing style accordingly. As your freelance writer if you need me to be conversational, I can do that; or technical, that’s no problem either; or formal, that’s fine too. I can help you to reach rev heads, reverends and everyone in between.

I AM PRECISE.

If your message doesn’t flow I’ll fix it. If the grammar is wrong I’ll make it right. I’ll see problems you won’t see because you’re too close to them. If you have a style guide I’ll follow it. I work with words every day and the little details are a very big deal to me. As a freelance editor and freelance proofreader, I take the pressure off.

I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

I have been a freelance writer, editor and proofreader for 21 years and I plan to keep doing it for at least 21 more! I won’t skip out in the middle of your project because something better has come along. For me, it doesn’t get any better than this. I love what I do and I’m here for the long haul.
